Mom's here

Mom has come for her annual Thanksgiving visit. She lives with my sister’s family about 4 hours from here. We usually meet about half way where we all have lunch together and then we bring Mom home with us. It’s nice to get together even for a short while and catch up on the happenings of the family. The picture is of Pete, my sister and brother-in-law.

We took a different route home again to try out our new GPS gizmo. We left Interstate 5 and headed cross country. After a couple of hours of “over the mountains and through the woods” with just a few wrong turns, we finally made it home. It really didn’t take any longer than the drive would have on the Interstate, but the weather was nasty, with a typical November rain storm, so it seemed to take forever before we found familiar landmarks. I think we’ll wait for the clouds to clear before we get that adventurous again.

It's great to have Mom with us for a few weeks. We have been having a great time shopping, working on our family history and of course...eating!
